Update

A lot has happened since I last posted on this blog. After Christmas we made a trip to Southern California to see Luigi's family and my mother. We didn't have too much time to spend there since I had to get back to work. It was nice to visit for a while.

A few weeks later we were back in Southern California. This time we only visited for the weekend. We drove down on Friday. Then on Saturday we went to Tony and Denise's wedding. On Sunday we had Isabella's baptism along with her cousin Jonathan Blake. It was great to have family all around us. My dad, sister Erin, sister Lynne, and brother-in-law Jonathan all made the trip from Northern California to join us on the baptism day.

Sadly on that Saturday, just before the wedding, Luigi's beloved aunt Edith passed away. Luigi was able to see her one more time before she passed. The day was very bitter sweet. She was such an incredible woman. Although I only knew her for 7 years, she definetly made a lasting impression in my life. She was spunky and charismatic. The thing I remember most about her is her always lending an ear. She loved to talk, but she listened too. I also remember that she would never let you leave the house without offering some kind of food or pasta. She was energetic and always up and moving. Even in her 80's she couldn't sit for very long without getting bored. She will be dearly missed.

This weekend Isabella had her first Valentine's Day. She got a stuffed bear, two books, and a music card. She loved her music card that played the tune "You Are My Sunshine". I bought her a cute outfit for the day. She also got to spend some time with Auntie Lynne, Uncle Jonathan, and Samantha while mom and dad went to see a movie. It was nice to get away for a bit, but I have to admit I missed her.

Luigi had been bugging me for weeks to get Isabella's hair cut. I had been resistant to the change. Afterall she's just 10 months old. But her hair is really long and has to be put up at all times. When it is down it is always in her eyes. So we went to get her haircut this weekend. She didn't like it one bit. We fought her the entire time. Unfortunately, I didn't get many good pictures because I was too busy trying to comfort her.
Also for the past few days she has been pretty moody and not wanting to eat. Low and behold this morning she pulls on my hand and starts to gum me and "Poof" her first tooth! It's just popping through the surface. Pictures are too hard to get at this point, but there is one there. It's amazing how fast my baby is growing up.

Christmas 08

Christmas this year was very fun. Isabella got to experience her first Christmas ever. She seemed far more interested in the wrapping paper than the actual toys that came in the paper. But that was expected.

Isabella crawling towards her first present.
She just got up so her hair is a little wild.

Holiday Pictures

It's 8 a.m. and Isabella is sleeping in today. So I have finally had the chance to sit down and write in my blog. It's been a whirlwind of activities in the last couple months. In November we moved to our new home. It's strange being a homeowner now. My mother came to visit during the move. She helped take care of Isabella while we packed, moved, then unpacked. Her help was a Godsent. I don't know how other people with babies move at all.

For Thanksgiving we went to Luigi's brother John's house out in Clear Lake. It takes about two hours to get to his house from ours. We enjoyed great food and company. Isabella enjoyed spending time with someone her own age. John's stepson has two sons. One of them was a two year old, and the other was 8 months. So Isabella got to crawl around and play with someone her own age.

Lynne came over last weekend and we decided to take some family photos. Unfortunately, Isabella had another idea. It was close to nap time, so she was a little restless. We snapped a few before she got really fussy.

This weekend, we went to see Santa Claus. It was Isabella's first time and I was thinking that she would probably scream her head off. However, we were pleasantly surpised that she didn't cry or even get uncomfortable. She actually smiled for the picture. What you don't see in the picture is her daddy and mommy acting crazy in the background, trying to get her to smile.

Well that's it for the latest update. Until next time.

Isabella's First Halloween

We celebrated our first Halloween with Isabella. We carved a pumpkin. Isabella sat and watched us work on it for a while. Luigi got to pull all of the stuffings out and I carved the face. After that we got Isabella dressed up in her Halloween outfit. She was a ladybug. She was surprisingly good about it. It looked a little uncomfortable to me. But she was fascinated with the texture of the dress and wanted to touch it and put it in her mouth. So she was entertained with it to say the least. We handed out candy for a while to trick-or-treaters. Then when the candy ran out we decided to go trick-or-treating ourselves. However, we only went to one house. We went over to auntie Lynne's to say hi and show her our little costume. After that we went home. Too bad it was raining this year. The poor trick-or-treaters had to walk out in the rain all night. Well that's about it for now.
